Guy Kawasaki is a long time local Tech writer who now writes a blog named “How to Change the World”. In a recent article he sums up the research of Stanford psychology professor Carol Dweck on how the praise we give can have unintended consequences. The research was conducted with school age children in mind, but Guy applies the conclusions to employees — and I guess I’m now applying it to volunteers. It’s an interesting read, so check it out.
